Along with thermal underwear, there are various other garments that have been produced to help with comfort, fashion consciousness and practical use.

Considering that thermal clothing can be used to stay either warm or to stay cool, the range of clothing available puts paid to the notion that thermal clothing consists merely out of underwear.

To begin with, there are thermal shirts. They are mostly T-shirts that can be worn either on their own or under a shirt. Many sportsmen wear these shirts when in practice or even when competing. These shirts can either be warming or cooling depending on the fabric that they are made of.

Then there are thermal socks which are primarily meant for winter and maintaining warmth, but can also be found to keep feet dry and cool on hot summer’s days. Along with the socks are the hats and the gloves. These are definitely meant for colder weather and are usually made of a wool blend.

Then there are also the thermal jackets meant for either heat or cold. These jackets are usually lightweight (for summer use) and can keep a person cool while out in the sun, while thermal woollen jackets are more effective in the winter.
